Mount Shasta Trail Alliance Completes Conceptual Plan for 100 Miles of Multi-use Trail!

Bike Shasta.org (your local IMBA chapter) has formed an alliance with other local trail and recreation organizations to finalize a conceptual plan to build 100 miles of trails in the Mount Shasta area over the next ten years. Click here to see the plan: Mount Shasta Conceptual Trails Plan

The Mount Shasta Trail Alliance is a joint effort between BikeShasta.org, the Mount Shasta Trail Association, Mountain Wheelers, and a consortium of local public and private entities.

The International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) contracted with BikeShasta.org to study the region and complete the conceptual plan. Fund raising is underway to turn the plan into reality beginning in 2014.

Planned multi-use trails include the Shastice Bike Park, Gateway Phase 2, Town to the Ski Park, the Shasta Dunsmuir Link,

the Sisson Callahan Loop, and Castle Lake.

  1. Jim Rochford says:

Bucket list desire (the bucket is getting a lot closer) to ride, at least downhill, on one of the moderate Mt Shasta trails before it’s too late. The trails that you propose, if completed, should make that area a destination for any serious mountain biker. Good luck with the project.
